Petrofac is looking to recruit a Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to join our team at Kittiwake – Offshore on a 3/4/3/5 rota.

JOB TITLE: OFFSHORE INSTALLATION MANAGER (OIM)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The OIM is ultimately responsible for the continuous operations and all health & safety aspects on the installation.
  • You will liaise with your health and safety representative to improve standards of safety and oversee daily production and maintenance operations to ensure that targets are being met. You will also ensure that the managers and their teams are operating as they should and in the event of an emergency they will manage the situation.
  • This is a Management position and as such will be held accountable and responsible for the performance of their teams.
  • Ensure collaboration/alignment across platform departments, offshore and onshore functions and Client office.
  • Overall responsibility for safe and efficient operation of the offshore installation.
  • Responsible for meeting the KPIs for the Installation.
  • Promotion and communication of Operations Excellence within the asset teams.
  • Ensure direct reports deliver Maintenance Excellence requirements.
  • Ensure direct reports deliver production targets by optimising production processes.
  • Manage vendors and visitors in a prudent and efficient manner – report any breach of contract / agreements to relevant department onshore.
  • Manage delivery of catering and camp services in compliance with contract terms.
  • Promote an incident free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture
  • Ensure requirements related to Consent to Operate are being met and adhered to by the installation.
  • Responsible for leading and maintaining a systematic risk identification and management process on the installation.
  • Perform internal audits of risk management systems as appropriate.
  • Proactively engage in implementing and maintaining relevant SIMOPS, Procedures and Guidelines to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
  • Responsible to ensure all SIMOP operations are controlled and executed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Continuously monitor efficiency and ensure an effective and well documented “handover” between shifts and during crew changes on the installation.
  • Act as Permit System Owner, performing permit review and approval for all areas within 500m zone.
  • Approve MoC and ORA’s according to procedure.
  • Attend onshore meetings as required, pursue issues/queries with teams and client as required (onshore or offshore).
  • In conjunction with required personnel review any proposed modifications / work packs prior to implementation and feedback as appropriate.
  • Responsible for delivery of appraisals for platform personnel ensuring objectives are set and review cycles are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support a learning and continuous improving culture via mentoring personnel, Competence Management System assessor.
  • Completion of Competence Management System for role in timely manner.
  • Stand-in for the position of Operations Manager (onshore) as required.
  • Safety Management - Responsible for thorough and timely reporting and following up on incidents, ensuring that learnings are efficiently distributed across locations.
  • Understand and ensure compliance by teams regarding the installation safety case, statutory requirements, and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure contractors and vendors comply with Petrofac / Kittiwake’s safe systems of work and current legislation.
  • Emergency Response - Leader of Installation Emergency Response – responsible for responding to emergency situations in a structured and planned manner which minimizes risk to personnel and plant.
  • Ensure suitably qualified personnel are in place to perform emergency roles as defined by the Company Emergency Response Procedure Manual and Station Bill.
  • Financial Accountability - Ensure optimal delivery of budgetary commitments within Kittiwake asset.
  • Identify and act upon any areas of efficiency in a timely manner with a view of delivering cost savings without risk to safety or production.
  • Problem Solving - Ability to lead and work in a team, resolving day-to-day operational issues as they occur.
  • Ability to manage system issues and liaise with external support teams to bring resolutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple workscopes, prioritising and allocating resources as required for the best outcome for the asset.
  • Ability to review plans for SIMOPS issues and resolve clashes before they manifest at site.
  • Ability to carry out complex fault-finding review and assistance with plant optimisation, liaising with Client & vendors both remotely and locally to resolve issues.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Recognised Apprenticeship or Training Scheme or Relevant Degree / Graduate Program.
  • experience preferably in the petrochemical, refining, oil / gas exploration and/or production industries in a similar role with supervisory/operations management experience.
  • Thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures.
  • OIM Controlling Emergencies.
  • OIM Regulations.
  • Offshore Spill Management & Response.
  • Offshore Search & Rescue Management.
  • Certified in Incident Investigation techniques.
  • Ability to design, set, and implement operational objectives.
  • Highly motivated, flexible in approach and with a proactive mindset.
  • ISSOW (Proscient Or similar system) training to level 2.
  • Systems literate - experience of computerised management systems e.g., Maximo, Spreadsheets, etc.
