PSC Group is now hiring a full-time Valve Shop Technician that will work safely around heavy equipment, railcars and railroad tracks to coordinate and compete all railcar repairs. Work Schedule: M-F 7:00am - 3:30pm, times could vary based on scheduled jobs. Must be able to work overtime if needed. Some evenings and weekends are required.
Pay Range: Pay ranges based on experience.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Value Technician:
- Interprets job work orders and follows blueprints / schematics to perform required repairs
- Utilizes basic mechanical skills and builds knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut and gouge
- Notifies of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks
- Follows all safety rules, keeps work area clean and complies with all ARS Environmental Health and Safety Policies
- Ensures AAR, ARS and customer quality assurance standards are met
- Completes any other duties as assigned in order to complete the task
- Remove an assortment of valve and valve fittings from tankcar
- Reapply rebuild / new valves to tankcar
- Leak test applied valves and components
- Documentation completion for valves and testing
- Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
- Must have a valid Driver's License and valid TWIC card
- 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
