Petroplan is working exclusively with a global energy company to staff an exciting LNG production and export terminal mega-project. We are recruiting a top caliber Mechanical & Piping Engineer professional for a Permanent position, based in Houston, TX who meets the following criteria.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
HSEQ
Ensure compliance with Company & Project and industry HSSE policies, standards, and regulations throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
Ensure all design, construction, and maintenance activities comply with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Develop and implement integrity management plans for LNG infrastructure, including corrosion prevention, maintenance schedules, and inspection programs.
Leadership
Serve as the site mechanical technical authority, providing mentorship, training, and guidance to team members.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize pipeline performance and LNG infrastructure operations.
Represent the organization in interactions with regulatory authorities, securing necessary permits and approvals.
Work Processes & Systems
Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and piping systems, ensuring adherence to industry codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement integrity management plans, including corrosion prevention, maintenance schedules, and inspection programs.
Validate and approve mechanical designs, test packs, and static equipment inspections, including sign-off on readiness and technical compliance.
Contribute to weekly engineering reports and provide input on surveyor deliverables, site fit-ups, and interface issues.
Technical
Perform stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and fluid flow simulations to validate designs and predict pipeline behaviour.
Review and interpret engineering drawings (e.g., P&IDs, PFDs, isometrics, and structural drawings) and provide technical solutions for challenges.
Ensure pneumatic test pack validations and exclusion zone calculations meet safety and design standards.
Support systems completion and commissioning activities for LNG liquefaction facilities.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and anomalies, developing solutions to ensure continuous operations.
Key Accountabilities
Act as the site's mechanical authority, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
Oversee design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and piping systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Perform stress analysis, simulations, and inspections to validate designs and operations.
Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions to ensure reliable operations.
Approve designs, test packs, and inspection plans for static equipment.
Develop maintenance and integrity management programs, including corrosion prevention and inspections.
Support commissioning and systems completion for LNG facilities.
Skills & Experience
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and technical standards (ASME, API).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Expertise in heat exchangers, piping, and static equipment. Familiarity with HAZOP / MOC processes and systems completions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering capacity required
Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities preferred.
