Petroplan is recruiting for a Project Lead, Capital Projects on behalf of a US-Based LNG Operator.
The Project Lead will report to the Director of Capital Projects and play a key role in coordinating the execution of front-end engineering projects within the Brownfields Project Team. This role will guide projects through a structured stage gate process, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders from initiation and feasibility through to execution and project handover.
This position will be based on site in Cameron, Louisiana.
Key Responsibilities:
The Project Lead will report to the Director of Capital Projects and play a key role in coordinating the execution of front-end engineering projects within the Brownfields Project Team. This role will guide projects through a structured stage gate process, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders from initiation and feasibility through to execution and project handover.
This position will be based on site in Cameron, Louisiana.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee front-end engineering and project execution processes for the Brownfields Stage Gate Process to achieve optimal schedules, budgets, and technical integrity.
- Ensure alignment with operational and technical performance requirements at the LNG plant.
- Provide leadership in optimizing and refining the stage gate process for ongoing projects.
- Communicate project risks and issues to senior management in a timely and transparent manner.
- Monitor performance of stakeholders, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality and compliance with technical requirements.
- Support the preparation and review of key project deliverables, including scopes of work, feasibility studies, contract strategies, change requests, and project variations.
- Ensure internal deliverables undergo thorough quality assurance processes.
- Coordinate with all project stakeholders and vendor personnel to maintain safe and efficient project progress in alignment with schedules and company objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in plant operations and turnarounds required.
- Extensive experience with Brownfield projects.
- Proven experience in engineering, project execution, and delivery within EPC or EPCM frameworks.
- Proficiency in project control systems and software, including Excel, MS Project, and risk management/planning tools.
- Ability to identify and implement project changes per management of change (MOC) procedures.
- Strong HSSE awareness and ability to integrate HSSE principles into technical activities.
- Strategic awareness of business considerations in project decisions and contractor negotiations.
- Ability to apply technical standards to achieve execution requirements and drive quality improvements.
- Strong understanding of discipline interfaces, project development, and delivery processes.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple project assignments with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with functional project and technical assurance processes.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Client-side experience in project delivery.
- Mentor and support team members assigned to the project.
- Adhere to and promote company HR policies and procedures, meeting associated deadlines.
- Ensure the safety of team members by enforcing corporate and local HSSE policies and regulations throughout project activities.
