Petroplan is working exclusively with a global energy company to staff an exciting LNG production and export terminal mega-project located in the Southeast US. We are recruiting for a Marine Project Lead, based in Houston, TX who meets the following criteria:

- Collaborate with marine, logistics, and operations teams to determine specific tugboat requirements, including performance capabilities such as bollard pull, maneuverability, and operational efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive technical specifications for tugboats, incorporating safety standards, LNG compatibility, fuel efficiency, environmental regulations, and port conditions.
- Identify and assess potential suppliers, shipyards, and manufacturers capable of meeting project specifications.
- Coordinate with financial teams to develop cost estimates and ensure budget alignment.
- Prepare and manage tender documents, evaluate proposals, and recommend the most suitable option based on technical, financial, and operational criteria.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including contract managers, LNG facility operations teams, marine specialists, and senior leadership.
- Liaise with suppliers, regulatory bodies, classification societies, and shipyards to ensure compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations.
- Oversee the procurement process, fabrication, installation, and integration of tugboats into facility operations.
- Proven experience in marine construction and operations.
- Background in tugboat operation, design, and specification.
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of marine regulations and industry standards.
- Commitment to environmental safety and adherence to company safety programs.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance in marine operations.
- Proficiency in office productivity tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Knowledge of work packaging, production management, and scheduling.
- Intermediate expertise in cost management, including budgeting, estimating, and forecasting.
- Experience with software tools for managing RFIs, FCDs, and NCRs.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Dedication to maintaining a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 12–14 years of significant professional experience.
