What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Geophysicist - GOM position at Petroplan?
Staff Geophysicist – Subsurface Development - Houston
About our Client
As an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company, our Client believes in providing energy that empowers people by doing right always, staying with it, and thinking beyond possible. We encourage you to apply for the positions for which you meet the qualifications.
Job Summary
Our Client is looking for a Staff Geophysicist to join the subsurface development department to work on operated and non-operated offshore deepwater fields. The candidate must have a demonstrated proficiency in seismic data interpretation, geophysical modeling, and experience in well planning and drilling. Expertise in geophysical software (such as Petrel or similar) is required, along with a strong understanding of geophysical and geological models for field development, resource/reserve estimation, and well trajectory planning.
The Staff Geophysicist will apply quantitative geophysical analysis techniques, such as seismic interpretation, velocity modeling, and risk analysis, to help optimize the development of infield hydrocarbon potential. Experience in integrating geophysical data with geological and reservoir engineering models is also required. The position requires a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
The Staff Geophysicist will work in their Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remotely.
