Job Summary
Petrus Landscape is seeking an experienced, self-motivated landscape construction superintendent to build our Bay Area estate residential landscape construction division from the ground up.
Background
Petrus is an established, high-end estate residential landscape maintenance firm operating in the greater Bay Area. We are looking to increase our service line by offering large-scale estate landscape construction services. The company is committed to establishing this service division and has allocated significant resources for fleet acquisition, staff, and administrative support. We are looking to fill the role of landscape superintendent with an individual who is equally committed to building this division from scratch.
Who should apply
An individual within commutable distance of the Bay Area who has at least 7 years of experience in high end estate residential landscape construction.
Requirements
- All interested applicants must provide at least five (5) General Contractor or Landscape Architect references. Those references must be from Bay Area companies and demonstrate an established relationships from bid solicitation through estimating process and project completion. These references must be from high-end estate landscape construction projects with a minimum value of $250,000.
Responsibilities
- Leverage existing relationships with General Contractors or Landscape Architects to gain access to Requests for Proposals or Bid Solicitations in the Bay Area high-end custom residential market for landscape construction projects with a minimum value of $250,000.
- Organically grown new relationships with General Contractors or Landscape Architects to gain access to Requests for Proposals or Bid Solicitations in the Bay Area high-end custom residential market for landscape construction projects with a minimum value of $250,000.
- Create comprehensive and competitive project estimates in compliance with Request for
Proposals or Bid Solicitations
- Justify project expense with stakeholders using industry and market knowledge
- Manage projects from Request for Proposal or Bid solicitation through project completion with emphasis on hand-off to in-house landscape maintenance team.
Applicants should be able to perform the following on a routine basis:
- Prepare and manage project schedule.
- Identify resource and equipment needs for the project.
- Oversee day-to-day construction site activities.
- Display both leadership and ability to work alongside team members when needed.
- Transition project knowledge to Maintenance Team at closeout of project.
- Mentor and train team for skill development and increased responsibility.
- Proactively establish and support a positive commitment to Safety on the jobsite.
- Ability to read landscape designs.
- Ability to plan and problem solve.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent prioritizing, planning and scheduling of projects and staff.
- A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficient in managing crews, customer relations, and technical procedures of the job.
- Excellent organization and communication skills (verbal and written)
- General knowledge of irrigation systems and installation of hardscapes and softscapes.
- Knowledge of technology tools such as smartphones and tablet computers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
