Your Responsibilities as a GPS Dozer Operator

As a GPS Dozer Operator at Petticoat-Schmitt, you'll need a solid background operating a GPS Dozer.

Operates tractor equipped with concave blade attached across the front to gouge out, level, and distribute earth and to push trees and rocks from land preparatory to constructing roads / building platforms and installing underground utilities
Fastens attachments to a tractor with clevis or wedge-pin hitches.
Drives bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes, hand signals, or GPS devices.
Safe and efficient operation of dozer around the job site
Handling and / or moving material
Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
Daily maintenance of equipment

Requirements for the GPS Dozer Operator Position at Petticoat-Schmi

3 years of heavy civil construction GPS-equipped Dozer operation experience (preferred)

Ability to use the controls to effectively operate the tractor / dozer

Understands and watches machine control, gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the machine is working properly.

Grading

Safety practices and proper PPE

Understands survey markers and stakes

Good verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Punctual

Ability to work independently and self-motivated.

Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal.

Must have reliable transportation and be willing to commute within a 50-mile radius around Jacksonville and surrounding areas, including counties of Nassau, Clay, Duval, and St. Johns

Must be willing to undergo a background check

Hours Information :

Normal hours are M-F, 7am - 3 : 30pm

Hours can extend depending on production needs.

Some Saturdays as necessary. We are off on Sundays.

We plan on working 40-45 hours per week. Overtime is likely but not guaranteed.
