GPS / Machine Control Manager
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Set up projects for use of GPS machine control, set up 3D models of site plans and collection of as-built information.
- Verify site set-ups, calibrations, localizations, and machine measurements for accuracy.
- Perform site calibrations, pre-surveys, progress surveys, and as-builts as necessary.
- Collect and prepare data for deliverables to project team.
- Train, educate, and assist field personnel with the use and operation of GPS and positioning construction equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot GPS equipment.
- Serve as first line of defense in solving machine control issues
- Assist with site staking and layout as necessary.
- Other projects or duties as assigned by management.
- Train and coach operators, foremen, and superintendents on the use of machine control and rovers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Functions
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong organizational and technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and support end users
- Self-directed
- Detail and results-oriented with ability to analyze data and determine root causes of problems
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
Training and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (GPS, Machine Control, Land Surveying, etc.)
- Experience with Leica software and machine control preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D software suite
- OSHA-10, or ability to obtain
