We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Peer Support Specialist to join our team and assist individuals with mental health illnesses towards their recovery journey. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide support, guidance, and encouragement to individuals experiencing mental health challenges by drawing from your own personal experience of recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Establish rapport and build trusing relationships with individuals seeking support.
-Utilize your own lived experience of recovery to provide peer support and inpsiration.
- Assist indivuiduals in setting and accomplishing their recovery goals.
- Help individuals develop self-advocacy skills and navigate mental health support systems.
-Provide emotional support, active listening, and empathy to individuals during challenging times.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
- Attend regular supervision meetings and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualificaiton:
- Must identify as a mental health consumer and have personal experience with mental health recover.
- Must have an active Peer Support Specialist Certificate in the state of Idaho.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved peer support specialist training program.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality.
-Ability to work collaboratively with a divers range of individuals.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) system.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 15 per week
