Job Description
The Pettit National Ice Center is seeking a part time Ice Technician- Zamboni Ice Resurfacer Operator to join our team. Our facility is an official U.S. Speedskating Training Site that houses one of two indoor 400 meter Olympic speed skating ovals in the country. We also have two Olympic size hockey rinks.
This position consists of mainly resurfacing ice using a Zamboni Ice Resurfacer and general ice maintenance. Other general duties include light cleanup, basic mechanical functions, and overall facility upkeep. Estimated hours will be 25-30 hours per week and is primarily 2nd shift nights and weekends. General weekday shifts run 3:00pm- 10:30pm. Weekend shifts generally run 7:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm. Weekend shifts are a mandatory part of the position.
Those with prior rink knowledge, skating background, and/or mechanical inclination are encouraged to apply. No experience is necessary.

Summary of position
This position is responsible for operating the Zamboni ice resurfacer correctly and safely to ensure and maintain acceptable ice conditions as well as other duties assigned. Successful candidates will be trained completely on the operation, daily maintenance, and safe operation of the Zamboni ice resurfacer.
Qualifications
Must be able to work well in a team environment
Candidate possesses excellent time management skills
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age with a valid driver’s license
Must be highly motivated to learn new skills (ice resurfacing, ice edging, ice installation), that are essential for a successful rink operation.
Must have the ability to supervise and offer direction to rink attendants.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
