Veterinary Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our Fear Free team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the administrative tasks necessary for the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a blend of strong communication skills, animal care knowledge, and organizational abilities to ensure that both clients and their pets receive the highest level of service.

Duties

• Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Weigh pets & enter those values.
• Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, pet care, and general information efficiently.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
• Process payments and handle financial transactions with accuracy.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient intake, including gathering medical history.
• Provide information on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures to clients.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area, waiting room, & in between patients.
• Handle laboratory samples to give to a tech.
• Support animal handling during visits, including restraint when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of pet care practices and basic animal handling techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing excellent client service.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
