Summary of Position: The BIM Coordinator / System Designer is primarily responsible for accurate documentation and coordination of basic designs of pneumatic tubing delivery systems including systems including pre-construction coordination with respect to 3D modeling, shop drawings, and installation design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for implementation of customer design requirements into engineering documents to be used for project submittals and installation documents
- Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent project information
- Works closely with Project Management to coordinate documentation requirements and schedules
- Interacts with customers to convey project design and identify functionality improvements
- Generates design layouts and detailed drawings in 2D and 3D
- Integrate/convert Revit and AutoCAD documents
- Create BIM models for coordination with other trades utilizing Revit
- Participate in clash detection and resolution utilizing Navisworks, BIM 360, Revizto, BIM Collaborate, or other model viewing/collaboration software
- Create shop drawings in CAD, Revit, or Navisworks with minimal direction following project specifications
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to read, understand and create MEP construction documents
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks
- Complete and thorough knowledge of CAD documentation and Building Information Modeling (BIM) protocols and accepted best practices
- Knowledge of construction terminology, methodology and processes
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Education and Experience Required:
- 2-year degree or technical school (or relevant experience)
- 3 years’ experience in MEP construction BIM coordination
