Summary of Position: The Project Support Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting Project Managers with coordination of resources to successfully complete projects according to schedule and budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing general support to Project Managers in all aspects of project management
- Managing and maintaining project files, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and other crucial documents
- Distributing and tracking project documents to relevant parties
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of project schedules
- Monitoring and scheduling material deliveries and ensuring timely availability
- Tracking project expenses and assisting in budget management
- Building schedule of values for review and approval based on contract language
- Monitoring labor cost and approving time on a weekly basis
- Facilitating communication between project team, clients, and project stake holders
- Participation in project meetings and providing updates
- Participation in the resolution of project related issues/conflicts
- Assisting in quality control inspection and documentation to ensure compliance with project specification
- Taking on additional tasks as assigned by Project Managers
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents
- Knowledge of various project management methodologies
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with construction-based cost management software programs
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Team focused mentality
- Strong customer service orientation
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or similar (preferred)
- 2 years of mechanical construction (or related) project management experience
