  • Foster a work environment that is diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible and in line with Pew and the project's related goals.
  • Provide project management to a federal clean energy coalition composed of key stakeholders, government relations staff, and consultants.
  • Maintain a wide-ranging knowledge of federal policy and regulations on clean energy, develop supporting materials for senior staff.
  • Support the campaign team in analyzing state policy and regulations and develop related written content such as web analysis and policy fact sheets.
  • Coordinate and manage on-the-ground partner relationships and coalition activities. Ensure effective communication and collaboration of activities to impact public policy.
  • Provide technical assistance to state and federal government officials through written or oral testimony, research, white papers, or convenings.
  • Represent the project with external stakeholders at conferences and other expert opportunities and with national and state media.
  • Contribute to and participate in tasks of the department, as well as broader Pew-related projects and activities.
  • Qualifications

    Requirements

    • Proven track record of the ability to apply effective qualitative analytical skills to synthesize large amounts of information quickly and summarize findings effectively.
    • Knowledge and experience working in the energy industry or as an advocate for clean energy at the federal or state level.
    • Aptitude to apply a non-partisan, evidence-based approach to projects and campaigns that require support across the political spectrum.
    • Excellent political, strategic and analytical abilities with proven program management skills to develop, execute and evaluate a range of diverse strategies to achieve goals.
    • Attention to detail and project management skills.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • Generally 8 years of applicable experience.
    • Key attributes and preferred experience

    • Naturally develops and manages productive and collaborative relationships.
    • Comfortable meeting multiple deadlines and balancing multiple projects at once in a matrix-style team environment.
    • Experience with federal policy or state policy institutions or frameworks preferred.
    • Knowledge of the U.S. clean energy policy field.
    • Experience working in a policy or government relations role within government or the public sector.
    • Work Environment

      Located in Pew' s Washington, DC, office, this position will participate in Pew's core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of each week.

      Travel

      This position requires about 20% domestic travel to meetings and conferences.

      Benefits

      Salary Range $110,800 USD - $123,800 USD. The salary range represents a reasonable estimate of the annual salary based on Pew's commitment to provide equitable and market-competitive pay. The actual salary offered will take into consideration many factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills and experience, internal pay equity, and business need.
