The typical starting salary for this position is $51,400
Location:
Pew Research Center staff are required to be present in the Center’s Washington, D.C., office two core days weekly (Tuesday, Wednesday). Staff may work virtually from remote locations on other days in a typical work week.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to assigned teams, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and processing expense reports.
- Maintain Managing Director and team calendars as needed.
- Support institution-wide research proposal process, prepare research proposal materials
- Manage logistics for events, conferences, presentations and meetings for Directors, teams, and external customers.
- Maintain thorough, up-to-date knowledge of the organization's administrative, fiscal and operational policies; maintain familiarity with systems and projects unique to various teams..
- Administer and track contracts, subscriptions, invoices, and payments, liaising with the finance department to ensure timely processing. Prepare and process third-party expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Manage grant proposal process/financial reporting related to grant management.
- Track research project spending and coordinate with finance to help maintain the budget for assigned teams. Track all contracts and ensure compliance with financial terms.
- Serve as general liaison for teams to Office Services, Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology departments. Contribute to recruiting and onboarding new administrative support staff.
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, focusing on accuracy and quality, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Self-disciplined to proactively resolve issues, anticipate needs and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills including a strong sense of urgency to set priorities, juggle multiple tasks, organize time effectively, conduct research, and identify resources for projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Works well under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to tactfully manage internal and external relationships, and communicate in a clear, direct, and diplomatic style, handling sensitive situations and complex tasks discreetly, effectively, and efficiently.
- Maintains a customer service demeanor, being responsive to requests and providing high-quality service.
- Ability to understand organizational structure and work through administrative systems, both as an individual and a team member.
- Ability to resolve problems creatively and logically, applying expertise and experience to solve problems and detect underlying issues in complex situations and feels comfortable asking questions when something isn’t clear.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (internships and student work will be counted towards this requirement).
- Strong proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Familiarity with meeting and event planning preferred.
- Workday and/or Peoplesoft (or another financial management software) experience preferred.
- Familiarity with project management software (Asana) a plus
