Pew Research Center is seeking to hire a temporary Research Analyst to work full-time January through June 2025. This position can be fully virtual, and equipment will be provided.
About The Position
The Center conducts many of its surveys online and by phone using its American Trends Panel (ATP), which aims to get an accurate read of American public opinion. The temporary Research Analyst will support the development, quality checking, and data processing of surveys through a tireless attention to detail and the highest standards of quality control.
This person will work with our survey methodology team to perform core responsibilities of quality control for survey data collection. This person will assist in preparing questionnaires for survey programming, checking web survey programming, checking survey tab plans before sending to the crosstab vendor, and checking datasets and survey documentation to make sure all quality control requirements are met. This person will also assist with preparing survey datasets for public use. Working closely with the Senior Panel Manager and reporting to the Associate Director, Survey Methods, the Research Analyst must be able to work independently, as well as work effectively in a strongly collaborative environment.
At least 1-2 years of applied survey experience, including using software to process/analyze survey data. This person should have strong quantitative and statistical skills, including strong facility with SPSS (required), Excel (required), R (optional) or other statistical tools. Detail-oriented and highly skilled in managing multiple tasks, adhering to project timelines and following necessary document control guidelines. Ability to professionally and collaboratively engage with colleagues is a must.
The typical annual salary for this position is $75,000 annually.
