Position Summary
The summer undergraduate internship is a paid opportunity during the summer of 2025. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 30 hours/week and are paid $18.50/hour. This internship is available to undergraduate students with an interest in public opinion, survey research, and data science.
Interns will work with the Short Read team on Pew Research Center’s data journalism blog to include copy editing and the drafting of digital content, from Tweets and graphics to blog post copy and headlines.
For all these tasks, attention to detail and individual judgment are critical in maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and impartiality.
Pew Research Center is an office-based workplace, with all staff working in the Center’s Washington, D.C., office two core days weekly (Tuesday and Wednesday). Staff have the flexibility to work remotely up to three days per week. A modest relocation stipend is available for candidates that need it.
Internship Dates: June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025. Flexibility exists for a start date of June 16, 2025 – August 29, 2025.

Education/Training/Experience
- College students pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree (and completed a minimum of their second year).
- Interest in political science, sociology, journalism, data science, data journalism, data analysis or other related field.
- Experience with working with data and data analysis.
