Certification Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of certification programs for aircraft interior products.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of relevant CFR and CS 21, 23, and 25 regulations.
  • Work independently with FAA/EASA designees to develop certification bases and certification plans.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies (FAA/EASA/other) to coordinate approvals and ensure compliance.
  • Serve as the liaison between airlines, FAA/EASA, and suppliers to facilitate the timely completion of certification projects.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date certification records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop tools and processes to track deliverables, testing, compliance findings, and ensure on-time project completion.
  • Identify and mitigate risks by conducting Risk Management reviews, providing real-time assessments, and evaluating potential impacts.
  • Coordinate testing efforts to ensure adherence to schedules and support successful final certification.
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of certification procedures.
  • Represent the company in industry working groups involved in rule-making and regulatory updates.
  • Ensure compliance with internal company processes and procedures.
  • Mentor and train new engineers on compliance requirements and certification processes.
  • Assist with quoting and defining work scopes for new business opportunities, while forecasting capacity needs.
  • Review and approve TSO/ETSO compliance documents.


Qualifications


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field) with a minimum of 6 years of experience in aircraft interior products, or a Master's degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in aircraft interior certification, including TSO/ETSO product testing.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to establish and maintain schedules across multiple suppliers or projects.
  • Strong risk management expertise, with the ability to assess project status and identify risks while applying certification and testing knowledge to resolve issues.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a detail-oriented approach and a strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and lead teams when necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with both domestic and international regulatory compliance agencies, building strong working relationships.
  • Commitment to staying up-to-date with industry standards and developing new methods for achieving compliance where applicable.
  • Prior experience in technical leadership roles is highly desirable.
