Job Role:
The Fiber Technician will be responsible for providing on-site coordination of fiber optic cabling, installation, modification, and splicing work performed by crew. The successful candidate will have related construction experience in the outside Telecom or Fiber industry, preferably with experience placing cables, conduits, and team leadership skills. They will also possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and a valid state driver's license and safe/clean driving record. Key Accountabilities:
Provide on-site coordination of fiber optic cabling, installation, modification, and splicing work performed by crew.
Survey job sites to determine the best installation practices.
Coordinate workflow within the field, acting as company liaison.
Identify punchlist items in real time.
Ensure and maintain all company quality control and safety requirements.
Identify performance issues and recommend corrective action.
Coordinate scheduling and ensure adequate crew capacity.
Perform quality control inspections and correct issues and complaints in real time.
Resolve complaints with property owners where personnel are working.
Desired Skills:
Related construction experience in the outside Telecom or Fiber industry is preferred.
Experience placing cables, conduits is a plus.
Team leadership skills/experience is desired.
Excavations experience is a plus.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
A valid state driver's license and safe/clean driving record are necessary.
