P.F. Chang's is seeking a highly skilled tax professional to join our team as a Sr. Manager or Director of Tax. This role, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is pivotal in managing and optimizing our tax function, including federal and multistate compliance, audit defense, tax planning, and financial reporting. We are open to hiring at either the Sr. Manager or Director level, depending on the candidate's experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the tax function with a focus on federal and multistate corporate and partnership income tax compliance, sales/use, and personal property tax compliance.
- Serve as the primary tax advisor on critical business decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams (accounting, finance, treasury, legal).
- Develop tax strategies that minimize tax liability in alignment with company goals and compliance requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, including the management of quarterly estimated payments and annual tax provisions.
- Provide guidance on tax policies, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
- Manage tax audits to ensure favorable outcomes and minimal financial exposure.
- Identify, analyze, and execute tax planning opportunities to optimize the company's tax position.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA and/or Master’s in Tax preferred.
- Sr. Manager Level: Minimum 7 years of progressive tax experience.
- Director Level: Minimum 10 years of progressive tax experience.
- Strong technical knowledge in federal and multistate tax compliance, tax planning, and audit defense.
- Proficiency with ASC 740, SOX requirements, and tax software (e.g., CCH, OneSource, or similar).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
Location: Preference granted to candidates based in Arizona with the flexibility to spend occassional time in-office as needed. However, we are also open to considering fully remote candidates for this role.
