Independent Contractor/Delivery Driver must own a cargo van

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver (Independent Contractor) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining high standards of customer service. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while adhering to delivery timelines.

All merchandise is picked up from our Albany, OR warehouse, we have routes available in Salem and Springfield. All drivers must be 21 years of age of older and own cargo van.

Duties

• Safely operate a vehicle to deliver packages and goods to designated locations.
• Perform route driving efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while following all traffic laws and regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with clients during deliveries.
• Manage paperwork related to deliveries, including invoices and delivery confirmations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Utilize warehouse skills for loading and unloading goods as necessary, including the operation of a pallet jack.
• Handle manual transmission vehicles when required, demonstrating proficiency in driving various types of vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle used for deliveries.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Experience in warehouse operations or moving logistics is a plus.
• Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems to optimize delivery routes.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
• Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 pounds as needed.
