Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a diesel or natural gas engine technician with a complete overhaul, tear down, and rebuild expertise.
Exceptional diagnostic skills and a proven track record of identifying and rectifying complex engine problems.
Proficiency in executing full diagnostics using specialized tools on a variety of product types, both independently and under guidance.
Hands-on experience using systems like Cummins Insight or CAT ET.
Experience in the mechanical make up of most high horsepower engine repairs and rebuilds.
Familiarity working with engines ranging in horsepower from 100 HP to 4200 HP or larger.
Strong safety-conscious mindset, with a proven record of adhering to workplace health and safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics related to high-powered engines.
Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, supervisors, and clients.
Certified training or relevant qualifications in engine mechanics is a plus.
Responsibilities :
Diagnose and undertake intricate engine repairs directly at the customer's location.
Fine-tune engines based on varying fuel conditions, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Provide proactive and prompt service to meet customer requirements and concerns.
Utilize specialized tools in line with documented protocols to diagnose and address less intricate repairs, ensuring correct identification and preparation of necessary parts and tools.
Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors to facilitate comprehensive repairs and preventative maintenance procedures.
Complete all essential documentation, including but not limited to service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality assurance documents.
Regularly update technical knowledge and skills through training and research to ensure familiarity with the latest engine technologies and repair techniques.
Maintain and manage inventory of essential parts, tools, and equipment to ensure timely repairs.
Offer technical advice and support to junior technicians and other team members.
Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety standards and protocols.
Additional Needs :
Strong customer service orientation, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any post-repair concerns.
Availability for on-call duty in cases of emergencies or critical customer needs.
Desire to remote support and build up knowledge internally with a team.
Flexibility to travel to customer sites or different service locations when required.
Proficiency in using computerized systems and software related to diagnostic and repair tasks.
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines without compromising on the quality of work.
