Position Summary

A production technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manufacturing equipment in a production facility, ensuring the smooth running of production lines by performing tasks like calibrating machines, monitoring quality control, troubleshooting issues and performing basic maintenance to maintain production targets and product quality standards. This position requires the ability to assemble, quality check the work and learn different variations of testing software to ensure the products meet the requirements of our clients. This role is also responsible for inventory accountability. The role is integral to ensuring efficient manufacturing workflows and adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

Essential Responsibilities

Assembly and Soldering Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components according to technical specifications, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform precision soldering tasks on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other components, adhering to best industry practices and ensuring reliable connections.
  • Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies for defects or inconsistencies, repairing and reworking as necessary to meet quality standards.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment effectively and safely.

Testing and Troubleshooting Responsibilities

  • Test the finished products for proper functionality and responses from the test software.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on testing protocols and techniques
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management on testing documentation
  • Ensure testing documentation is completely filled out and returned to the appropriate department for saving in the proper project files
  • Inventory Coordination Responsibilities

  • Monitor and coordinate with other departments to provide inventory levels each month, ensuring that materials and components are available for production without overstocking.
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials, updating inventory management spreadsheet accurately.
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and optimizing storage organization.
  • Collaborate with procurement and production teams to address material needs and prevent shortages.
  • Education and Experience

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical training or certifications in soldering, electronics, or inventory management are preferred.
  • Experience :
  • 1-3 years of experience in a production assembly role involving soldering.

  • Experience with serialization processes and traceability systems is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with inventory management practices and software systems.
  • Knowledge of soldering and quality inspection procedures is advantageous.
  • Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Environment :
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing or production environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.

  • May involve time spent in storage areas for inventory management tasks.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and antistatic wrist straps, is required.
  • Physical Requirements :
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods during shifts.

  • Perform detailed soldering and assembly tasks requiring fine motor skills and precision.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular bending, stooping, and reaching to handle components and manage inventory.
