General Overview:
The Plant Controller will be a key financial partner, responsible for leading the financial performance and strategy of Best Pump and Flow manufacturing Facility. Responsibilities will include supporting the monthly accounting close process, budgeting, completing financial analysis and reporting for the Plant’s operations while ensuring alignment with overall company objectives. As a strategic advisor, the plant controller will work closely with the Plant’s leadership team to enhance operational efficiencies and improve profitability at the Facility.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead financial planning processes for the facility’s manufacturing operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Prepare and present detailed financial reports related to overall factory’s activities, highlighting trends, variances, and actionable insights.
- Cost Management: Conduct thorough analyses of labor, overhead and raw material cost across balance sheet accounts to identify opportunities in cost absorption processes to improve cost data accuracy.
- Inventory Optimization: Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels, ensuring alignment with working capital requirements while meeting production and customer needs.
- Accounting Responsibilities: Primarily responsible for revenue, cost of goods sold, work-in-process inventory costing, and finished goods inventory costing. Partner with shared accounting services for other costs and balance sheet accounts.
- Capital Expenditures: Evaluate and monitor capital expenditure projects related to factory capacity optimization, ensuring that investments are aligned with long-term company goals and provide a clear return on investment.
- Business Partnering and Collaboration: Partner with the corporate FP&A team and other cross-functional teams in developing and implementing business plan forecasts representing current business needs. Provide thought leadership and insight on achievement of plant key performance metrics with strong focus on cost reduction and improved operating efficiencies.
- Business Compliance: Collaborate with Legal, Corporate accounting, Operations, and other cross functional teams on complex and unique business transactions such as acquisitions/divestitures, new business offerings, etc. Collaborate with shared tax services for compliance with federal, state, and municipal tax requirements. Periodically support the corporate accounting team with audit matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA/CMA is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in finance.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and cost analysis skills.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations, product costing and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results across functions.
- Strong proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ODOO, NAV-365, QAD, or similar ERP systems)
- Experience working with sensitive company information while maintaining confidentiality.
