Rooted in the region with a highly regarded undergraduate sport management program, the ideal candidate will shape and grow an immersive project-based learning experience that fuels enterprise-wide collaboration and co-constructive, high impact sport industry business knowledge and experience.
Toward this end, Pfeiffer University seeks applicants for an Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport Management to support Pfeiffer’s mission and vision through excellence in teaching and advising/mentoring students in the Undergraduate Sport Management Program (Misenheimer, NC). The ideal candidate has a demonstrated commitment to student-centered education, scholarship, and active organizational and civic engagement. The successful candidate will teach 24-26 credit hours annually over a 10-month contract.
This is a 9-month position, beginning August 1, 2024.
Pfeiffer University is a private, Liberal Arts University, affiliated with the United Methodist Church, whose mission is to prepare servant leaders for life-long learning. The main campus is located in Misenheimer, approximately 40 miles northeast of Charlotte, NC, with an additional location in Albemarle. Some travel required.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Sport Management or related field from a regionally or nationally accredited university; sport-industry practitioner with operational knowledge and organizational experience; demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement project-based learning experiences;and previous collegiate teaching. Top candidates will have higher education administrative experience and an open-minded, innovative, growth mindset leadership style with a results-oriented focus.
