Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our drivers ensure products reach customers at the scheduled times and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our company and building lasting customer relationships.
The CDL-A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver food and related products safely and on time, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities :
Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring accurate and timely responses.Collaborate with team members to perform any duty assigned for company success.Conduct safety checks (i.e., pre / post trip) and inspections of the vehicle and trailer according to DOT regulations; ensure compliance with company safety standards.Report any safety issues and / or necessary repairs immediately.Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving practices.Inspect trailer loads for secure and properly loaded freight.Perform count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly.Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.Drive and deliver customer orders per the predetermined route delivery schedule.Unload products from the trailer, carrying items to customer storage areas.Conduct checks for damaged goods, scan items, and report accordingly.Verify delivery of products with customers and obtain necessary signatures.Collect payments when required and handle customer returns appropriately.Ensure the security of the tractor, trailer, and freight.Unload any damaged items and complete related paperwork.Keep accurate records of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.Maintain cleanliness in the tractor and loading dock areas.Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of shifts.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications :
Required Experience :
0-12 months of commercial driving experience
Required Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED or EquivalentValid CDL-A, must be 21 years of ageMeet all state licensing and / or certification requirements (where applicable)Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 yearsPass post-offer drug test and criminal background checkPass road testPossess or be able to secure a valid DOT Health CardAble to lift and utilize equipment to move products weighing between 10-90 poundsCompany Description :
