Job Description:
Position Overview: As a Control Panel Builder at PFI, you will be responsible for assembling and wiring control panels that are integral to our food manufacturing equipment. This role requires a high level of technical skill, precision, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in electrical assembly, a strong understanding of schematics, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control Panel Assembly:
- Construct and wire control panels based on detailed schematics and technical specifications.
- Install and connect electrical components including relays, switches, circuit breakers, and PLCs.
- Perform thorough inspections and testing of assembled panels to ensure compliance with industry standards and functionality.
- Machine Wiring:
- Wire machinery and equipment used in food manufacturing, including motors, sensors, and actuators.
- Ensure wiring is properly routed and securely mounted to prevent damage and ensure safety.
- Troubleshoot and resolve wiring issues or malfunctions during installation and testing.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and component specifications.
- Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Update and modify schematics as necessary based on project requirements or design changes.
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct functional testing of control panels and machinery to verify proper operation.
- Identify and address any issues or discrepancies discovered during testing.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth integration of electrical components.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Provide technical support for the installation, maintenance, and repair of control panels and related machinery.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues as they arise.
- Participate in ongoing improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.
- Proven experience in control panel assembly, machine wiring, or electrical background, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong willingness to learn and receive on-the-job training.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and safety codes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
