Job Description
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a key member of Pfizer's I&I Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief I&I Officer. This critical and strategic senior leadership role is responsible for leading all clinical activities in the I&I organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop clinical development strategies for I&I across the portfolio
- Set value creation objectives that realize end-to-end therapeutic area strategies and provide an appropriate return on investment
- Foster strong collaboration with external partners, including academic institutions, contract research organizations, and key opinion leaders
- Represent the company at scientific conferences, regulatory meetings, and other academic and industry events
Qualifications:
- M.D. and/or Ph.D. credentials required
- Significant experience in I&I clinical development
- Well-respected industry leader with a proven track record of leading large-scale matrixed, global I&I clinical development teams
Organizational Relationships:
The CDO will have direct operational oversight and line responsibility for the functions supported within the Pfizer I&I Division, including Medicine Team Leads, Global Clinical Leads, Category Clinicians, Clinical Scientists, and others.
Financial Accountability:
In partnership with the Chief I&I Officer, the CDO will oversee a budget up to $500 million and manage a team of up to 60 colleagues.
