Polymer Scientist
Summary:
The Polymer Scientist will provide scientific expertise to drive programs that improve materials quality, supply reliability and total cost of ownership for PGS’ Sterile Injectable packaging and delivery system components. The Polymer Scientist will provide technical packaging materials expertise to identify alternate materials and resolve material and resin issues within the network. This individual will develop strong network partnerships, and utilize technical knowledge, analytical testing, and data analytics to ensure effective and timely solutions to materials concerns
Responsibilities:
- Identify alternate materials for components to ensure product supply and support NetZero projects
- Ensure timely resolution of material issues/ investigations to sustain a consistent supply of product to the market
- Provide technical expertise to reduce costs, address shelf-life concerns, and ensure a consistent supply of product to market
- Implement unique materials solutions to support product improvements
- Provide Materials expertise to address plastic component and Single use system initiatives
- Prove materials support of new product development and component lifecycle management projects
- Drive industry focus to evaluate new materials technologies
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Polymer/Material Science, Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceuticals / medical devices
- Expertise in Qualifying materials for pharmaceutical products
- Knowledge of multiple resin types
- Knowledge of USP/EP requirements
- Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Team player
Location:
- This is a hybrid role in Lake Forest, IL; candidates will be required onsite 3 days per week (minimum) after training
