Summary
We are seeking skilled welders/Fabricators to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding steel structures, including hydraulic tanks, fenders, platforms, stairs, and railings. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work from blueprints and shop drawings, and a high level of skill in MIG welding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel, ranging from 20 gauge to 1-inch thickness.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and setup requirements.
- Use metal finishing tools such as grinders, abrasives, and other hand tools to achieve high finish standards.
- Operate equipment such as cranes, positioners, magnets, and fixtures for positioning and securing workpieces.
- Layout, cut, punch, and drill materials for fabrication.
- Inspect products for defects and ensure conformance with quality standards.
- Handle and fabricate various steel materials, including tubes, angles, and channels (16 gauge to ½” thick).
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of welding fabrication experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in MIG welding
- Must be able to read and interpret shop/engineering drawings and weld symbols.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, and algebra.
- Able to operate saws, shears, and drill presses for part modification.
- Familiarity with the setup and operation of band saws, drill presses, and other shop equipment.
- Ability to measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
- Capable of visualizing product assembly from two-dimensional drawings to three-dimensional objects.
- Must pass a welding competency test, weld test, and pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
- AWS D1.1 welding certification is preferred or must be obtained during the training period.
- High attention to safety and quality standards.
