Primary Purpose:
Oversee the childcare program at assigned campus.
Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):
High school diploma or GED, training, and/or experience which demonstrate ability to perform the required duties; one (1) year of successful licensed
childcare experience; able to be recognized as a site director as described in Minimum Standards under the guidelines set forth by the Texas Department
of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) [section 744 or 746]
Major Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with Extended Day Program Manager, Assistant Program Manager, campus administration, and Extended Day Program Specialists or
office staff in order to meet the needs of the program and students.
2. Know and comply with the Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations, DFPS Minimum Standards,
and Extended Day Program policies and procedures.
3. Directly supervise Extended Day Program group leaders and students at assigned site ensuring compliance with DFPS Minimum Standards and
Extended Day Program policies and procedures.
4. Manage, evaluate and train Extended Day Program staff to ensure that assignments match their skill, abilities and training.
5. Conduct meetings regularly with Extended Day Program staff members to discuss areas of success and improvement.
6. Utilize Extended Day Program curriculum resources to plan and implement quality licensed childcare programming.
7. Manage payroll for staff members in adherence to district employment and budget guidelines.
8. Order, maintain and track supplies/materials to ensure integrity and diligence of District resources.
9. Maintain accurate student attendance using approved Extended Day Program software or systems.
10. Meet regularly with Extended Day Program designated supervisor and support staff to discuss areas of success and improvement.
11. Complete 20 hours of training annually in accordance with DFPS Minimum Standards.
12. Obtain CPR/First Aid Certification, Water Safety Training, and UDCA Training, immediately upon hire.
13. Follow Educator Code of Conduct, PfISD policies and procedures, and state/federal law.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of all district, campus, and Extended Day Program operating procedures and guidelines.
Knowledge of DFPS Minimum Standards [section 744 or 746 as designated on site licenses] and quality childcare programming.
Knowledge of administrative support and file maintenance techniques.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and office management.
Skill in communicating effectively with others.
Skill in effective customer service.
Skill in working with various types of equipment including, but not limited to personal computers, fax machines, printers and multi-lined phone
systems.
Skill in working with word processing and spreadsheet computer applications.
Skill in working in collaborative team-based environments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Extended Day Program Site Director will directly supervise the Extended Day Program Group Leaders assigned to their designated campus.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands):
Maintain emotional control under stress; must be able to lift and/or carry 30 lbs independently and over 50 lbs with assistance. Must be able to work the
hours of 10:00am to 7:00pm, Monday – Friday and be available to work assigned camp days in order to fulfill the 197-day work service calendar as set
each year by the Extended Day Program Manager. Work hours may rotate on a flexible basis as needed to support various program needs.
