- 7:30 am - 11:30 pm
Stipend Amount: $ 6,000

Primary Purpose:
Serve as instructional leader for the summer school programs. Interview and hire all summer school staff
including teachers. Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for
academic performance. Direct and manage all programs and campus activities and supervise operations
and personnel at campus level.
- P rincipal certification is required.
Requirements:
INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
1. Work with sending campuses to ensure criteria is applied to all eligible students. Create and
disseminate summer school invitation letters and communicate directly with parents, teachers, and
campus administrators to ensure forms are received back and that students are enrolled in
programming.
2 . Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to
p rogram outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions for improvement, as well as for
recognition of success.
3. Ensure fidelity of use and implementation of summer school curriculum and resources.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
1. Interview, select, and orient new staff. Approve all personnel assigned to campus.
2 . Define expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom
management, and communication with the public.
3 . Approve all time sheets, leave, and substitute requests.
4. Ensure summer school teacher to student ratios are maintained throughout summer programming.
MANAGEMENT OF FISCAL, ADMINISTRATIVE, AND FACILITIES FUNCTIONS
1. Comply with district policies and state and federal laws and regulations.
2. D evelop campus budgets based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel,
a nd other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits. Maintain fiscal control and accurately
report fiscal information.
3. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.
4. M anage use of school facilities. Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and
s afe campus.
5. I nventory supplies and resources and ensure delivery of district summer school resources and
curriculum to district warehouse.

Specific Summer School Facilitator duties will include the following: Ensuring that all staffing for summer school positions, including teachers and support personnel, is
- Scheduling students from zoned school campuses
- D eveloping master schedule for summer school
- Supervising student discipline
- S upervising summer school teachers
- M aintaining accurate attendance and credit records to certify grades at the end of summer school
- Providing professional development and training for summer staff as needed
- C oordinating with transportation and child nutrition departments
