Job Title/Position: Technician, Technology Support Department/School: Technology

Primary Purpose:
Performs on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district. Respond
to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience / Education / Certification):
High school diploma or GED, A or equivalent certification, and at least one year work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers
and peripherals.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Install and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.
2. Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
3. Install and configure software as requested.
4. Diagnose and repair equipment including printers, terminals, and districts owned computers.
5. Service equipment according to established preventative maintenance schedule.
6. Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance and time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
7. Maintain accurate inventory of districts assets.
8. Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communication
9. Develop and maintain technical documentation related to assigned functions and responsibilities.
10. Attend professional growth activities.
11. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of computer workstation setup
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines and procedures
Knowledge of established safety procedures and techniques
Skill in installing, maintaining, and minor repairs of computers and peripherals including printers, USB devices, and scanners
Skill in diagnosing problems and performing repairs
Skill in working with various types of equipment including, but not limited to computers, printers, cameras, scanners, interactive devices,
projection devices
Skill in working in collaborative team based environments, as well as good inter-personal communication skills
Skill in written and verbal communication
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands):
Maintain emotional control under stress; repetitive hand motions; frequent district wide travel - must possess a reliable automobile (mileage
reimbursement provided by PFISD); must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 50 lbs independently and over 50 lbs with assistance.
