What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Diagnostician position at Pflugerville ISD?
Primary Purpose:
Conducts formal psychoeducational evaluations of various target student populations for eligibility, planning, placement and consultation with or referral to available resources and services.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):
Master’s degree and valid educational diagnostician certificate.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Administer, score, and interpret psychoeducational evaluation instruments (intelligence, achievement, and developmental).
2. Interview students, parents, school personnel, and gather other sources of information on individual students.
3. Observe students in classrooms for diagnostic purposes.
4. Interpret and synthesize information obtained from school-based interventions to prepare a written report and develop written recommendations.
5. Consult with curriculum personnel, administrators, and teachers to help adapt curriculum of classroom practices to pupils with any special needs.
6. Make appropriate referrals to facilitate education goals recommended for students.
7. Consult with staff, students, and parents to assist in developing individual instructional or management strategies for students.
8. Establish and maintain effective open communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
9. Participate in staff professional development activities.
10. Participate in campus problem solving teams.
11. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
