What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Room Specialist position at PFNonwovens, LLC?
Purpose and role of job:
Responsible to assist with locating, inventorying, and signing out spare parts as well as performing duties such as inventory control and order entry as directed by the Senior Parts Room Specialist and/or required by customers.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
· Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Parts Room
· Assists the Senior Parts Room Specialist to ensure appropriate stock quantities are met and sustained.
· Assists the Senior Parts Room Specialist to ensure Stock Room procedures are followed for maintaining inventory accuracy.
· Assists with inventory control through the use of a PC based parts control system and assists with physical cycle counting.
· Assists the maintenance team in locating required parts
· Assists with identifying, labeling, and correctly storing new parts
· Assists others in the identification of unknown and/or new parts and identifying an appropriate vendor
· Assists with determining the need for a New Part purchase vs a Part Rebuild based on Cost Comparison, Availability, and Lead-Time
· Works directly with outside vendors to determine the feasibility of repair, rebuild, or the remanufacture of parts
· Assists with the training of customers to locate parts in the system, perform proper check-outs, and emphasizes the importance of following company guidelines with respect to the Parts Room.
· Relays any/all parts related concerns to the Senior Parts Room Specialist and Maintenance Manager as required
· Provides accurate record keeping and neatly completes all required paperwork in a timely manner.
· Performs housekeeping for the spare parts room.
· Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
Education and experience requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Parts Room experience preferred
· Knowledge or a CMMS system preferred.
· Knowledge of a parts inventory control system preferred
· Maintenance experience preferred
· Strong computer skill set required
· Strong organizational skills required
· Able to prioritize work assignments with a sense of urgency when required
· Operational knowledge of MS Windows.
· Operational knowledge of MS Excell.
· Proper oral and written communication skills
· Able to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
· Must maintain a valid forklift operator’s license
Work Environment:
Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
Physical Requirements:
Must adhere to PPE requirements; steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, ability to wear a green vest and bump cap when needed.
