Purpose and role of job:
The role involves managing inventory by receiving, logging, and organizing materials while ensuring accuracy and coordinating vendor orders. It also includes assisting with deliveries, maintaining a clean storeroom, training staff, and managing safety hazards.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Receive and accurately log new materials into the inventory system.
- Sort and organize large spare part orders from vendors, including Acelli, Reicofil, Reifenhauser, and Andritz.
- Perform cycle counts on parts located in Vsu, Rows, and Racks to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Conduct bi-weekly inventory assessments in the Oil Room.
- Participate in monthly inventory checks for the Radio Cabinet.
- Fill and deliver consumable boxes to production lines as needed.
- Assist the Receiving Department with loading and unloading deliveries and transporting items to production lines.
- Aid maintenance staff in locating required parts and supplies.
- Facilitate the presence of the Lawson representative in L4 maintenance parts areas to address inventory needs.
- Place stock and emergency orders with vendors in collaboration with the Stock Room Supervisor and PFN Purchasing Department.
- Arrange trucks for the disposal of waste materials, including surfactant, oil waste, oily rag drums, monomer, and empty oil drums for Brenner’s Recycling.
- Maintain cleanliness in the storeroom through regular trash and cardboard disposal and sweeping.
- Perform housekeeping duties in the spare parts room to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Notify appropriate personnel of real or potential safety hazards or violations and take immediate corrective action when necessary.
- Adhere to parts sign-out and other Stock Room procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist with the training of staff to locate parts in the system, perform proper check-outs, and emphasize the importance of following company guidelines.
- Relate parts requirements and concerns of the maintenance crew to the Stock Room Supervisor.
- Provide accurate record-keeping and complete all required paperwork neatly and in a timely manner.
- Review and adjust system-generated requisitions for stock items.
- Maintain a valid forklift operator’s license.
- Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
Education and experience requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- Parts or tool crib attendant experience preferred.
- Standard knowledge of the parts numbers or part numbering systems.
- Standard knowledge of MS Windows.
- Standard knowledge of a parts inventory control operation.
- Proper oral and written communication skills
- Able to perform assigned duties without direct supervision.
Work Environment:
Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
Physical Requirements:
- Walk / stand 100% of time during a 12–hour shift.
- Frequent reaching overhead during shift.
- Constant bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout shift.
- Constant climbing and reaching into machines to fix jams.
- Constant pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift.
- Constant lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Constant use of hands and occasional use of foot control.
- Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift• Operation of roll manipulators, baler, and compactor.
- Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
- Required participation in a daily pre-shift warm-up routine.
