As PG&E's customer-facing organization, we support Electric Operations, Gas Operations, and Energy Supply. To meet and exceed our customers' diverse needs and preferences, PG&E implemented a Regional Service Model in 2021, rolling out five unique regions supported by local-level leadership. The Regional Service Model (RSM) Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for harnessing the power of a large utility and curating it to the needs of our diverse customers by supporting our five regions and each of their leaders to quickly resolve issues at the regional level and rebuild trust with our hometowns.
Position Summary
The Principal Program Manager’s core responsibilities are to provide leadership, planning, governance, organization, and project management required to maximize the value of the PMO. You will support cross-functional initiatives and change management across multiple teams and organizations. You will provide daily, weekly, and monthly report-outs to varying levels of leadership and be expected to drive various initiatives independently, professionally, and confidently.
The PMO implements and integrates continuous improvement, full lifecycle project management governance, and end-to-end process management across the Company. Additionally, the PMO supports the ongoing operations of a 300-coworker department, in such, that you should demonstrate the ability to work seamlessly amongst your peers of a diverse and dynamic group.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office 1-2 days per week based on business needs or company requirements. You will travel on various occasions throughout the service territory to support our regional teams.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000
Job Responsibilities
Planning, implementing, and driving programs to deliver results supporting the Regional Service Model and monitoring their progress and performance once executed.
Leads the establishment of governance processes that are continually improving, closely match the culture and decision-making processes of the organization, and seamlessly link to our overall operational management processes.
Coordinating the interdependencies and resources of the program and projects with others in the PMO, broader RSM, and Company.
Leads cross-functional projects or teams and champions change management across organization wide initiatives.
Clearly and professionally communicates program and project status to all stakeholders via verbal and written reports.
Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.
Works with all levels of management and senior leadership across functions to influence decisions.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
10 years of job-related experience
Desired:
Experience with operating models and designing/supporting matrixed organizations
