Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and clients.
Duties
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Seek out new customers and maintain relationships with current customers
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Xactimate and Buildertrend to create detailed proposals.
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimates.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate pricing and assessment of project requirements.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process, implementing cost control measures as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing estimates, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and best practices in construction estimating.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Xactimate and Buildertrend is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
- Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and pricing with customers and potential customers
- Strong project management skills to oversee multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of cost control techniques to manage budgets effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
