What are the responsibilities and job description for the Addictions Counselor position at PGIC?
Seeking: Addictions Counselor
Degree: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Additions or similar human service field.
Licensure: Licensed or Certified Addiction Counselor with the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapist Required
Experience: At least 2-3 yrs experience with Mental Health/ Substance Abuse Population; Child/Adult Experience
Work Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday; Saturday’s from 9:00 am to 1: 00 pm
Qualifications and requirements:
- At minimum, counselors must have approved trainee status, certification or licensure through the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
- Positive attitude
- Capability to work in a team atmosphere
- Knowledge of addiction
- Comfortable with computers and computer software
- Excellent Documentation skills!
- Must have active certification Status, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC/LGPC, LCPC/LCADC through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors
Tasks
- Maintain an assigned caseload
- Complete clinical assessments
- Complete and maintain patient treatment plans
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions
- Maintain electronic patient charts
- Provide care coordination with outside providers and treatment programs as needed
