Seeking: Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist /Certified Clinical Supervisor
Program Name: Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment/Substance Abuse Intensive Program
SA Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment (SACOT) Program means a periodic service that is a time limited, multi-faceted approach treatment service for adults who require structure and support to achieve and sustain recovery. SACOT Program is a service emphasizing reduction in use and abuse of substances and/or continued abstinence, the negative consequences of substance abuse, development of social support network and necessary lifestyle changes, educational skills, vocational skills leading to work activity by reducing substance abuse as a barrier to employment, social and interpersonal skills, improved family functioning, the understanding of addictive disease, and the continued commitment to a recovery and maintenance program.
The LCAS is a valuable member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and will attend and or participate in clinical staffing. The LCAS will provide supervision to staff identified as Qualified Professionals and Associate Professionals. Case consultations will occur as required per service definition. The LCAS will conduct social assessments, individual support, as well as facilitate group sessions.
Educational Requirements
The minimum educational requirement for a LCAS working with PGIC, Inc.is to have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the human services field and two years of accumulated supervised post-graduate work in the field of substance abuse counseling as well as registered status by North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB). The position requires at least 2 years of substance abuse experience with adults or adolescents. Applicant must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within mental health. An individual who holds a license, provisional license, or certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human services profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience with the population served.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with other professionals to evaluate client’s mental health and substance abuse condition and to assess client needs
Determine nature and extent of disorder and formulates treatment program with other practitioners on the team.
Participate on Substance Abuse Treatment Team as expert consultant
Maintain case records correspondence, supervision notes and files in accordance with procedures
LCAS will be available for urgent and emergency consultation after PGIC office hours (9a-6p)
Position must have access to computer, fax and telephone after PGIC office hours
