Language Instructors

PGLS is looking for a Spanish Language Instructor   to teach an intensive, one-on-one course for an adult professional, onsite in Los Angeles, CA. This position is for a class starting February  24, 2025 for 6 months .

Requirements

Contract Requirements

• Educated native or bilingual speaker.
• 2 years of classroom experience teaching  Spanish  language to adult English-speaking students.
• 1 year(s) of teaching experience in a small-group classroom setting.
• Must possess the cultural background of the country and geographical region (raised or educated in the country).
• Familiarity with the communicative approach to language learning, ILR proficiency scale levels and OPI assessments is highly desired.
• Familiarity with various computer platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting software (Zoom, Skype, MS Teams).

Requirements

Skills Required Teaching Spanish as a foreign language, preferably in one-on-one or small group settings. Familiar with teaching with the communicative approach to language teaching. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to assess the learning style of the student and adjust teaching accordingly. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a distributed team. Strong time management and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of Adult Learning Theories and practice, preferred. Ability to work remotely and provide required services from alternate locations via MS Teams, ZOOM, etc., as needed. Instructors must be able to work in a harmonious and professional manner with cultures from around the world.

Salary : $29 - $30
