Job Description

Language Instructors

PGLS is looking for a Spanish Language Instructor   to teach an intensive, one-on-one course for an adult professional, onsite in Los Angeles, CA. This position is for a class starting February  24, 2025 for 6 months .

Requirements

Contract Requirements

  • Educated native or bilingual speaker.
  • 2 years of classroom experience teaching  Spanish  language to adult English-speaking students.
  • 1 year(s) of teaching experience in a small-group classroom setting.
  • Must possess the cultural background of the country and geographical region (raised or educated in the country).
  • Familiarity with the communicative approach to language learning, ILR proficiency scale levels and OPI assessments is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with various computer platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting software (Zoom, Skype, MS Teams).

Skills Required

  • Teaching Spanish as a foreign language, preferably in one-on-one or small group settings.
  • Familiar with teaching with the communicative approach to language teaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess the learning style of the student and adjust teaching accordingly.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a distributed team.
  • Strong time management and  problem-solving  abilities.
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theories and practice, preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely and provide required services from alternate locations via MS Teams, ZOOM, etc., as needed.
  • Instructors must be able to work in a harmonious and professional manner with cultures from around the world.

    Salary : $29 - $30
