Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team! This role will support the transition of new designs to production, working on innovative solutions to support complex defense systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that designs meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, all while collaborating with a team of engineers across multiple disciplines.

Salary : $60.00 per Hour

Location : San Jose, CA.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide Engineering Production Support (EPS) during the transition from design to production and resolve any build process issues.
• Generate new designs to meet requirements and ensure alignment with cost and schedule constraints.
• Design interface components for integrating new products.
• Investigate and resolve design issues during production through root-cause analysis and change documentation.
• Collaborate with design engineers and specialists to address issues spanning structures, ballistics, mechanical, and logistics domains.
• Prepare presentations and documentation to support vehicle sales and address production issues.
• Conduct Trade Studies or Tolerance Stack Analyses to support design or investigation efforts.
• Analyze and interpret specifications, drawings, models, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards and military specifications.
• Utilize PTC Creo to create and edit CAD models, ensuring systems are designed for manufacturability.
• Design and analyze welded and bolted joints.
• Perform root-cause and impact analysis to determine the optimal solutions based on cost, schedule, and priority.
• Leverage FEA tools and apply GD&T principles.
• Collaborate with project leaders to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations, and troubleshoot testing issues while maintaining an organized data log.
• Engage with suppliers to facilitate cost and quality improvements.
• Stay up to date with engineering trends and industry best practices.
