A Quality Technician job in Tacoma, WA is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. You will perform thorough inspections using guidelines set in the company QMS manual to stay compliant with the AAMA certification program. In addition, you will assist in the education and training of each process performed throughout the production processes Come and join our 500-plus team-member facility at our Tacoma campus.
The hourly compensation range is between $22.42 to $26.38, depending on experience. You will work Monday through Friday starting at 7:00 a.m.

- Performs the daily QA mandatory tests as outlined in the QMS manual (ex: butterfly test, slosh test, weld test, sill drainage).
- Perform start 2 finish audits that have been developed in the company Quality Hawk system using a provided computer tablet at the frequency outlined in the QMS manual.
- Routinely checks that all processes are being performed correctly.
- Inspect incoming raw materials to ensure materials are within quality standards.
- Provides on-going training and awareness of the company QMS standards.
- Supports and implements policies and procedures as outlined in the QMS manual.
- Trains production team members on Start 2 Finish audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- Requires one to three months of experience in a production environment.
- Basic understanding of math equations.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to train production team members.
- Capacity to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Able to understand simple testing equipment (ex: tape measure, caliper, thermal thermometer).
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (Lean 101).
- Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department.
- Be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
