Entry Level Fleet Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities
Perform minor component repair and all aspects of preventative maintenance
- PM services
- Vehicle component replacement under Sr. technician’s supervision
- Electrical system and lighting repairs
- Cooling system maintenance
- Perform basic diagnostics
- Assist mechanics with tractor and trailer repairs
- Assist with tire repairs and perform tire replacements
- Drive forklifts and non-CDL company vehicles
- Understand and adhere to all safety standards
- Keep shop and personal work area clean and organized
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Provide excellent Customer Service
- Other duties may be assigned

Must Haves
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position
- Must be willing to attend appropriate training sessions

- Must possess a set of basic hand tools and be able to purchase additional hand tools as needed
- Must be willing and able to drive a service vehicle to where a customer is having a problem and be able to perform light mechanical service as needed.
- Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
- Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude
- A valid drivers license is required with minimal violations as required by PGT drivers policies and be able to at least pull trucks in/out of shop safely.
- 1-2 years of automotive or diesel experience preferred
- Vocational or Technical certification preferred
- Good oral and written communication ability
