Job Summary: The PGW Auto Glass Warehouse Employee is responsible for handling, storing, and distributing automotive glass products while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. This role includes receiving shipments, organizing inventory, fulfilling orders, and maintaining quality control to prevent damage to fragile products. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
This is a part-time position.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments of automotive glass and related materials.
- Accurately pick, pack, and load customer orders.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in a safe manner.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure glass products are free from defects and meet company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and participate in cycle counts.
- Follow proper handling and safety procedures to minimize product damage and ensure workplace safety.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper stacking and securing of products.
- Keep warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and properly storing materials.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and drivers to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience, especially handling fragile materials, is a plus.
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn how to use forklifts and warehouse equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and shipping/receiving documentation.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow established procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Use of safety PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots as required.
- Handling fragile automotive glass products requiring precision and caution.
- Overtime and weekend shifts may be required based on business needs.
