What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner and Scheduler position at PGW?
Responsibilities:
- Preparing the Production Plan based off forecast requirements and company inventory guidelines.
- Analyzing and forecasting material requirements for JIT deliveries. Placing orders with approved vendors, expediting the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining inventory levels within prescribed goals.
- Creating, releasing, and routing work orders for production.
- Evaluating and scheduling the transportation of all outbound loads for both domestic and international shipments. Provide adequate lead time for carrier assignments and maximize full truck loads to control cost. Communicates with and provides guidance to shipping/receiving area and prepares shipping paperwork as necessary.
- Supporting other tasks as assigned related to the supply chain function and inventory.
- Utilizing lean principles to achieve continuous improvement of the planning and scheduling process.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Supply Chain Management or 2 years equivalent experience
