Overview
Are you passionate about bubble tea and great customer service? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable lead for our team at Ben Gong’s Tea Annandale!
The Manager is responsible for the overall success and operation of the store. Primary responsibilities include developing, managing, and leading a team that ensures all our guests' experiences are outstanding and operating the store to reach or exceed our financial and operational goals.
The ideal candidate will be trained in the operating processes so that s/he will then be able to provide training to new staff. It is important that the candidate possess strong leadership skills and a passion for providing exceptional service in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Supervise daily shop operations to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.
- Ensure quality control for drinks according to brand standards.
- Ensure business continuity, even assuming operational roles if necessary.
- Manage inventory control processes, including tracking stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining quality standards and compliance with recipes.
- Ensuring that cleanliness and organization of all the areas, including storages, equipment and utensils, are maintained.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate the team, fostering a positive, motivated and productive work environment.
- Lead and mentor a team of employees, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and collaboration.
- Handle scheduling, training, and staff development
- Develop and implement the succession plan within 30 days of hiring
Customer Service Excellence:
- Assist customers as needed, addressing inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally, and giving guidance and recommendations about our products.
- Help create and implement promotional strategies to drive sales.
Requirements
- Bachelor or student in final semesters in Business Administration or similar (Preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year in a retail or food service management role, preferably within the beverage or quick-service industry.
- Must be at least 30 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and work alongside your team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- High energy and strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to interact effectively with customers.
Skills
- Knowledge of hospitality management principles, particularly within tea/coffee shops or similar environments.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal skills to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Experience in recruiting and selecting the right talent for the team.
- Manages oneself in a mature manner and in accordance with professional standards for words, actions, appearance, and behavior.
- Speaks clearly, professionally, and respectfully. Can adjust style when necessary to suit diverse situations. When conversing with others, demonstrates active listening.
- Successfully manages multiple activities at once, shifting attention from one task to another without compromising quality.
- Since this business operates as a fast-food restaurant and customers expect their drinks quickly, the manager must ensure that the required speed is met without compromising product quality and without generating waste or cost overruns.
- Remains calm, poised, and professional in the face challenges, stressors, and high-pressure situations.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling and protection.
- Has an inherent desire to take care of the clients. Sees them as the priority. Personally, enjoys creating an extraordinary experience for them.

Education and Experience:
- Proven experience as a manager or similar role (Required)
- Experience in the hospitality or retail sectors (Highly Desired)

License/Certification:
- Certified Food Protection Manager (If you don’t have it, you will have the first month to deliver it)
