Shift: 6am - 3PM (Overtime is required)

Job Summary
Quality Assurance Specialist (Quality Specialist), you will pay a vital role in ensuring that PHA products meet quality standards, unique customer specifications and manufacturing processes meet stated requirements. You will be responsible for supporting initiatives in IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other system standards. Analyzing data, identifying trends and initiating corrective action.
Duties and responsibilities:
Leadership
- Manage records of weekly product inspection, self-check, routine equipment and maintenance records,
- Host customer PHA visits, as well visit customer service activities at customer locations,
- Training team members (quality inspectors, production workers, maintenance and logistics) on systems.
- Backup to Quality Team Lead
Nonconforming
- Maintain the nonconforming (NG) records, SAP, and isolation cage.
- Investigate customer quality issues, document non-conformances and initiate corrective actions to address problems promptly. Utilize problem-solving techniques to identify the root cause of quality issues and develop preventative measures.
Communication
- Strong communication skills verbal and written,
- Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Monthly create supplier debit/credit memo, stock adjustment, material return,
Compliance
- Conduct regular audits to assess compliance quality standards, quality management system and regulatory requirements: (purchased materials and packaging, control plan and flow, manufacturing process, 5S, safety, management systems and shipping dock shipping and receiving)
Improvement
- Data analysis: collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in system development, implementation, and maintain: quality management, environmental management, safety management and other systems, to ensure consistent compliance across operations.
Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (production, logistics, maintenance, expatriate coordinator, etc.,) to identify and solve problems and improve processes
Inventory
- Quarterly production, warehouse materials and finished goods.
Other
- Performs other related or nonrelated duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Required Skills:
- Ability to utilize computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite.
- At least one year’s experience in a production environment.
- Ability to work overtime on short notice.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- 2- or 4- year degree.
- Ability to travel.
- Second language: Spanish or Korean,
- Other skills preferred but not required:
- Familiar with blueprints, dimensional check fixture gaging, GD&T, handheld measuring tools.
- Math and algebra skills are highly desired.
- Good handwriting skills
Physical demands in work environment:
- Continually stand or walk >90% of work time.
- Continually required to talk, hear, write.
- Required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
- Performing duties of this job the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision an ability to just focus.
- The work area is heat/air conditioned within an office environment, with 100% of the time spent in a shop floor environment.
