Finance Associate
About the role:
We are looking for a driven Finance Associate to work alongside the Chief Financial Officer and ensure sound financial decision-making, strategic planning, and successful venture fundraising. You will interface directly with Phamily’s customers and VCs, pivoting your attention to a wide range of projects including; Operational finance, forecasting and modeling, commercial finance and capital markets, Customer Financial reviews and Strategic Finance.
Things change quickly and frequently here, so we need someone who is at the top of their game and can shift gears, alter direction, and keep going at pace. You must be a playbook writer and executor, able to make plans that both meet the current moment and contemplate the future and then implement them. Customer service and business savvy come into play here, and we all use them daily. No matter your job level, you will own your work from beginning to end, take feedback well, prioritize what matters, never rest on your laurels, stay positive and resilient, and make data-driven decisions.
Specifically, you will:
- Manage invoicing, facilitate audits, review the work of the bookkeepers to ensure that the accounts are reconciled properly each month.
- Own the maintenance of the financial model, including pulling data from across disparate systems. Experience in forecasting (low, high , base case) is required to succeed.
- Partner with the CFO to connect with debt lenders and apply for debt financing.
- Interact with VCs and collaborate with the CFO in constructing and maintaining the data room.
- Perform claims data analysis. Must have a keen understanding of the required balance of speed and forensics accounting / sleuthing to understand what stories the data tells (eg. if the client is seeing lower reimbursement rates, can they cut the data 3 different ways to understand the why.)
- Analyze alternative pricing models for future application, research value-based care pricing models, evaluate vendors in a spreadsheet matrix format, contemplate ROI of different marketing spend options, and perform primary research. Opportunity to work directly with customers to develop financial models on how to expand usage of CCM or track other benefits they are achieving (eg. reduced phone calls to the front desk, etc.)
What you have accomplished:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or a related field; healthcare industry experience a plus
- Advanced Excel and basic SQL/Python skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset focused on solving complex challenges
- Experience in startup finance and operations is a strong advantage

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
